You’ve seen the masserie. The olive trees. That sunset light that exists nowhere else in the world. You didn’t fall in love with a destination — you fell in love with a feeling. And you’ve decided: this is where it happens.

But you’re planning from the other side of the world. You don’t speak Italian. You don’t know which venues are truly extraordinary and which ones simply photograph well. You don’t know who to trust with the most important day of your life.

You need someone who was born here. Someone who has built the relationships over the years, discovered the hidden places, and understood exactly what couples like you are looking for.

Someone who speaks your language — in every way that matters.

Her name is Carmen. And she’s been waiting for couples exactly like you.

  • Born in Germany and raised in Salento
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Intimate weddings only — from 10 to 70 guests
  • You always work with Carmen. Always.

The truth no one tells you

Planning a destination wedding is the most exciting thing you will ever do.
If it goes wrong, it is also the most stressful.

You have done your research. You have spent hours on social media and wedding blogs. You know exactly what you want — the long table under the olive trees, the candles at sunset, your guests laughing over a good glass of wine.

You write to wedding planners in Puglia. Some do not reply. Some reply in Italian. Some send you a PDF with three packages
Basic, Premium, Luxury — and none of them comes even close to the wedding you have in mind.

You start wondering: is the wedding I imagine actually possible? Or will I spend a fortune and end up with something that looks beautiful on paper and feels generic in real life?

Here is the truth the wedding industry never says out loud:

01

Trust

You are transferring tens of thousands of euros to people you have never met, for a day you cannot afford to get wrong.

The only thing standing between your dream and a disaster is the integrity and expertise of the person you choose. Most couples find out too late whether they made the right choice.

02

Communication

There is a difference between a vendor who speaks English and a planner who truly understands how you think

A planner who understands what you mean when you say "intimate but not small," and what you need in a long-distance collaboration across time zones and different cultures. Most planners in Puglia are not built for international couples. They are built for Italian ones.

03

Authenticity

The photos you fell in love with showed places that felt real — ancient, imperfect, alive.

The packages you were offered feel designed by a committee. You want your wedding. Not a template with your name on it.

04

The hidden details

Your guests are flying in from New York, London, Sydney. Someone has to coordinate their transfers.

Someone has to find them a beautiful place to stay. Someone has to make sure the entire week — not just the ceremony — feels extraordinary. Most planners do not think about this. The best ones obsess over it.

The difference between the wedding you dreamed of
and the one you never stop talking about
comes down to one decision: who you trust to plan it.

The answer

She is not an agency.
She is not a package.
She is a woman from Salento who has dedicated her life to making yours unforgettable.

Carmen Marinó grew up in Salento. Not "based in Puglia." Not "moved here from Milan." Born here. Raised here. She knows which masseria has the most extraordinary light in late September. She knows the florist who works only with wild flowers from the Salento countryside, whose arrangements look as if they grew there on their own. She knows the photographer who will be moved at your wedding — because he truly loves this place and these moments — and whose work will make you cry every time you look at it for the rest of your life.

She speaks English fluently. Not functional English. Real English — the kind where you can say "I want it to feel ancient and romantic but not precious, Italian but not a cliché, small enough to feel personal but big enough to feel like a true celebration" and she knows exactly, precisely, what you mean.

She works exclusively with intimate weddings — from ten to seventy guests. This is not a limitation. It is a philosophy. She believes the most beautiful weddings are the ones where every single detail has been chosen deliberately. Where nothing feels generic. Where every guest feels personally considered. This level of care requires focus. Carmen gives you all of it.

She does not manage twenty weddings at the same time. When you are her client, you are her priority. Every email answered. Every concern addressed before it becomes a problem. Every detail taken care of so that when your wedding day arrives, the only thing in your mind is the two of you.

"People ask me what I do for a living. I tell them: I take couples who have fallen in love with a place, and I make sure the day they get married there is exactly as beautiful as the moment they fell in love with it.

I do not sell packages. I do not offer tiers. I build something specific, personal, and unrepeatable — for you, in the place you chose, with the people you love most.

It is the only way I know how to work."

The full picture

Your guests are not flying to Puglia for a ceremony.
They are flying for an experience they will never forget.
Carmen makes sure they get it.

Most wedding planners think about one day. Carmen thinks about an entire week.

Your guests are crossing oceans to be with you. Some have never been to Italy. Some have never seen a masseria, tasted a Negroamaro, or watched the sun set over the Ionian Sea. They are not just attending your wedding. They are experiencing, perhaps, one of the greatest travel moments of their lives.

Carmen takes this seriously.

She coordinates everything, from the moment the first guests land to the moment the last ones leave. Transfers, accommodation, group dinners, excursions, experiences. The entire week, designed so that every person who was there spends the rest of their life saying: it was the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended.

01

Venues and Accommodation

Carmen knows every masseria, private villa, and boutique hotel in Salento. She selects accommodation for your guests based on atmosphere, budget, location, and feeling, and negotiates directly with the owners on your behalf. Your guests will not sleep somewhere generic. They will sleep somewhere they will talk about for years.

02

Transfers and Logistics

Airport pickups. Private shuttles between venues. Late-night transfers after the reception. Carmen coordinates every single movement so that no one is left stranded, no one is late, and no one has to spend a single minute of the week worrying about how to get around. She works with trusted local drivers she has personally known for years.

03

Experiences and Excursions

Carmen curates tailor-made experiences to let your guests discover the most authentic side of Salento: cooking classes in a masseria, sunset boat tours, private tastings, and walks through the baroque wonders of Lecce. Because a destination wedding is not just one special day, but an entire week to remember.

04

The Entire Week

From the welcome aperitivo to the rehearsal dinner, from excursions along the coast and through ancient villages to the post-wedding brunch, Carmen designs every moment of the wedding week. Every guest knows where to be, everything flows naturally, and you can live every moment without worrying about the organisation.

"The wedding is one day. The week around that day is what your guests will remember twenty years from now. I make sure all of it matters."

— Carmen

Why here

You chose Salento for a reason.
Here is what your guests will fall in love with.

Salento is the southernmost tip of Puglia — a narrow peninsula between two seas, where the architecture is baroque and golden, the food is ancient and extraordinary, and the light at the end of the day feels like something a painter invented. It is one of the most beautiful places in Europe. Most of the world has not discovered it yet. Carmen will show it to you before they do.

01

Lecce

Known as the Florence of the South, Lecce is one of the most extraordinary cities in Italy — built almost entirely from a warm limestone called pietra leccese that glows like amber at sunset. Every façade is a sculpture. Every piazza has a café that has existed for a hundred years. Carmen knows it the way she knows her own home.

02

The Masserie

The masserie are the soul of Salento — ancient fortified farmhouses, some centuries old, transformed into some of the most evocative venues and hotels you will find in Italy. Thick white walls. Golden stone courtyards. Olive trees planted before America existed. Carmen has personal relationships with the owners of the very best ones. She knows which masseria is right for your wedding and which one is right for your guests. They are not the same thing.

03

The Two Seas

Salento sits between the Adriatic Sea to the east and the Ionian Sea to the west. Each one has its own character. The Adriatic coast is dramatic — sea caves, hidden coves, water so clear and so intensely blue you will not believe it is real. The Ionian coast is wider, warmer, more golden — with sunsets that stop people mid-sentence. Carmen knows every beach worth visiting and every one that is not worth the trip.

04

The Ancient Villages

Otranto. Gallipoli. Specchia. Presicce. Salento is scattered with small villages that most tourists pass by without stopping. Each one has a story. An ancient cathedral, a Byzantine mosaic, a family that has been producing the same wine for four generations, a restaurant with eight tables and no menu. Carmen builds these places into your guests’ itineraries so that when they leave, they feel they have truly been somewhere — not simply passed through.

05

The Food and Wine

Orecchiette with turnip greens. Burrata made that very morning. Hot rustico leccese straight from the oven. Negroamaro wine from vines that have been in the same family for generations. Pasticciotto for breakfast, every morning, without exception. The food of Salento is not Italian food in the way the rest of the world understands Italian food. It is older, more specific, more rooted in this particular land. Carmen knows the people who make it best. She will make sure your guests eat as if they lived here.

This is the Salento Carmen grew up in.
This is what she wants to give you.

What couples say

Real words from real couples.

People who trusted Carmen with the most important day of their lives.

“She found a masseria we would never have discovered on our own.”

Sarah & James

We had spoken with three other planners before finding Carmen. None of them made us feel the way she did from the very first call, as if she truly understood us, not just our list of requirements.

She found a masseria we would never have discovered on our own. She handled every single detail without us ever having to chase anyone. And on the day, everything was so perfect, so completely us, that my husband cried before I had even walked in.

We still talk about it every week. It was the most beautiful experience of our lives. We would do it all again tomorrow.

“She never made us feel like clients.”

Emily & Tom

What struck me most about Carmen is that she never made us feel like clients. She made us feel as if the wedding mattered to her personally, because it did.

Every email answered the same day. Every concern solved before it could become a problem. Her English is so natural and warm that half the time we forgot we were working with someone on the other side of the world.

She did not plan a wedding. She gave us a day that will be part of our story forever.

Emily & Tom · London, UK Married in Salento · June 2024

“Our only job was to get married.”

Mia & David

We were genuinely terrified of planning from Australia. The time zone, the language, not knowing who to trust with all that money and all that meaning.

Carmen made every one of those fears disappear, not by reassuring us, but by being exactly who she said she was.

She was on top of everything. She communicated clearly. She managed things we did not even know needed to be managed. We arrived in Salento and our only job was to get married.

Mia & David · Melbourne, Australia Married in Salento · May 2024

From the moment the first guest lands to the moment the last one leaves — Carmen manages everything.

Most wedding planners give you a list of vendors and consider their job done. Carmen does something different. She takes full personal responsibility for the entire experience — so that at no point, from the first email to the last goodbye, do you have to chase anyone, coordinate anything, or worry about a single detail.

FAQ

Everything couples ask before booking the call.

We do not speak Italian — is that a problem?

Not at all. Carmen handles every communication with local vendors in Italian. With you, she speaks exclusively in English — naturally, directly, without you ever having to simplify what you want to say. You will never feel lost in translation.

How far in advance should we start planning?

For a summer wedding in a top venue, 12–18 months in advance is ideal. For spring or autumn — which are, honestly, the most beautiful seasons in Salento — 12 months is usually enough. If you already have a date in mind, write to her now. The masserie and photographers truly worth having book up faster than you expect.

What exactly does “intimate wedding” mean?

A wedding where the couple is at the centre — not the number of guests. Carmen works with weddings from 10 to 70 guests. Small enough to feel deeply personal, carefully curated in every detail. Large enough to feel like a true and joyful celebration with the people who matter most.

Is the discovery call really free? With no commitment?

Completely free. No invoice, no obligation, no final pitch. Carmen uses those 30 minutes to understand your vision and give you a real idea of what is possible. If after the call you feel she is the right person, the next step is yours to take. If not — no problem. She would rather you find the right planner than the wrong one.

Can we have a legally valid wedding in Italy as foreigners?

Yes. Both a legally binding civil ceremony and a symbolic ceremony are possible for international couples. Carmen guides you through every option and, where necessary, connects you with the right professionals to handle the legal paperwork simply and without stress.

Do you work only in Salento or across all of Puglia?

Carmen is based in Salento — the southern tip of Puglia — and this is where she works and where her knowledge, relationships, and roots run deepest. If you have fallen in love with this specific part of Italy, you have found exactly the right person, but she has also worked on weddings in Valle d’Itria.

What makes Carmen different from a large agency?

With an agency, you might speak with Carmen on the first call and then be handed over to a coordinator you have never met. With Carmen, you work directly with her — from the first conversation to the last dance. She knows your wedding because she built it. She is there on your wedding day because she cares as much as you do. This is not something a large agency can offer. It is the entire reason she works the way she does.

Puglia is waiting for you.
So is Carmen.

If you have read this far, you already know.

You want to get married in Puglia. You want it to be intimate, authentic, and exactly as beautiful as the moment you first imagined it. You want someone on the ground who is genuinely from here, who speaks your language, who has the relationships and experience to get every single detail right — and who will care for your wedding the way you will.

The worst thing that can happen when you book this call is that you and Carmen decide she is not the right person. You will have lost 30 minutes. That is all.

The best thing that can happen is that a year from now you will be standing in a golden stone courtyard, surrounded by the people you love most, in the most beautiful light you have ever seen, thinking:

We made the right choice.

That call lasts 30 minutes. Book it now.
